'No Discrimination Against Women in Afghanistan': Taliban Says – They Got All Rights; The Hollywood actress said – Squirrel-cats are more independent than Afghan women

The Taliban has hit back at the statement given by the famous Hollywood actress Meryl Streep regarding Afghan women. The Taliban has said that there is no discrimination against women in Afghanistan. It is absurd to make such allegations.

Taliban spokesperson Hamdullah Fitrat said that women's human rights are protected in Afghanistan. No one is discriminated against. Some women campaigned against the Taliban.

Another Taliban spokesman, Suhail Shaheen, told the BBC that women cannot be deprived of the rights that Islam has given them. He further said that the restrictions imposed on women are in accordance with Islamic Sharia law.

Earlier, Meryl Streep gave a speech at the United Nations General Assembly on Monday. He said that cats and squirrels have more freedom than women in Afghanistan.

Hollywood actress Meryl Streep gave a speech on the status of Afghan women at UNGA on Monday.

Streep said that since the arrival of the Taliban in Afghanistan, many restrictions have been imposed on women. Even as animals roam freely in Afghanistan, Afghan women are forced to hide. This is very strange and also against the laws of nature.

Meryl Streep said-

I graduated in 1971. Women got the right to vote in Switzerland that year. Women in Afghanistan already got this right. She has been exercising her voting rights since 1919. Even in America, women got the right to vote only after this.

Meryl Streep said, the way social collapse has happened in Afghanistan is a lesson for the whole world. There were women working as judges and advocates in the 70s. She worked in almost every field. Now all their rights have been taken away.

The actress further said that a cat can sit at her door. You can feel the sunshine on your face. He can chase squirrels in the park. A bird can sing in Kabul, but a girl cannot.

Streets, parks and public spaces that were once open to them are now taken away from them. Now there is a suffocation that does not allow them to enjoy even the basic pleasures of life.
