Harry Potter actress Dame Maggie Smith dies: Two Oscar-winning actress dies at 89

Hollywood actress Dame Maggie Smith, who worked in 'Harry Potter' and 'Downton Abbey' films, has passed away in London. He left the world at the age of 89. Dame Maggie Smith is best known for her portrayal of Professor McGonagall in the Harry Potter series of films.

Giving this information on social media, her sons Toby Stephens and Chris Larkin wrote – 'It is with great sadness that we learn that Maggie Smith has passed away. He breathed his last in the hospital on the morning of September 27. She had been ill for some time. Family members were present with him in his last moments.

Maggie Smith won two Oscars Maggie's name was included in the list of the best actresses of Hollywood. British-born Maggie won two Oscars in her career. She won the Best Actor Oscar for 'The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie' in 1970 and the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for 'California Suite' in 1978.
