I was suffocated in married life- Jayam Ravi: Called wife's allegations baseless, said, 'Divorce decision was not unilateral'

Tamil actor Jayam Ravi spoke on the issue for the first time after the divorce announcement. He dismissed all allegations of wife Aarti as baseless, with Aarti claiming that she had no knowledge of the divorce. There were also reports for some time that Jayme was dating singer Kenisha Francis. The actor termed the news as rumours, and said- don't involve him in all this without any reason.

Jayam said – Forced to announce the divorce publicly Jayam came to support his brother at the audio launch of the film Vettayan. Here she breaks her silence on divorce and dating news. Speaking to Hindustan Times, he revealed that Aarti has not responded to two legal notices sent on his behalf.

He said, 'Does this behavior indicate that she wanted to reconcile with me? Legal proceedings were underway when I announced the divorce. I was forced to announce the divorce in the public domain because there were so many rumours. I am also responsible for my fans.

'Preparing to open healing center with Kenisha Francis' Jem addressed rumors of him dating Kenisha Francis, saying he was going to open a spiritual healing center with the singer. Also, it has nothing to do with divorce.

He said, 'It affects me and our family badly. Has anyone thought of that?'

'After a while I started getting suffocated in marriage' Wife Aarti alleged that she had no knowledge about the divorce. On these allegations, Jayam said, 'We and both our families discussed this together. I also spoke to Aarti separately in which I told her that this is what I want. I also spoke to his father. After a while, I started to feel suffocated by this marriage.

Jayam said – I definitely want a divorce.

Jaim further said, 'I have made it clear in my statement that everyone should respect our privacy. There is no turning back from here. I definitely want a divorce. At the same time, the first divorce hearing will take place in October.

After the divorce, Jayam shifted to Mumbai Jayam said that he shifted to Mumbai after the divorce, but keeps going to Chennai, where he stays in hotels. He also said that he is taking legal recourse for the custody of his sons Aarav and Ayaan.

Jayam said that his dream is to launch his son Aarav in cinema at the right time. However, this father-son duo was seen in the 2018 film 'Tik Tik Tik'.

When Jayam was asked if he had discussed the divorce with the children? In response, the actor said, 'Yes, I spoke to 14-year-old Aarav and told him about the situation. Ayaan is only 8 years old and too young to understand.

Who is Jayam Ravi? Ravi Mohan is also known by his stage name Jayam Ravi. He is the son of film editor A Mohan. Ravi started his film career with the film 'Jayam'. After this he changed his name to Jaim. Jayam Ravi's elder brother Mohan Raja is a film director, in most of whose films Ravi plays the lead role.
