Wow..Great records made in 1st Test!: India fourth most successful team, Pant equals Dhoni; Ashwin-Jadeja's record breaking partnership

India now have more wins (179) than losses (178) in Tests. Only four teams could do this.

Team India has become the fourth most successful team in Tests. India has won the 179th test match overall. The Indian team is at the fourth position with South Africa in terms of most Test wins. Now India's wins are more than losses. Only four teams have been able to do this.

The Indian team defeated Bangladesh by 280 runs at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday. Ravichandran Ashwin was the player of the match. Many records were made during this match.

1. India won 179 matches, lost 178; 4 Teams have more wins than losses After winning the first Test against Bangladesh, India became the fourth successful team in Tests. India has equaled South Africa in terms of most Test wins. Team India has won 179 out of 580 matches so far, with South Africa currently at the fourth position with 179 wins. Australia is first with 414 wins, England is second with 397 wins and West Indies is third with 183 wins.

2. Ashwin becomes player of the match for 10th time, equals Dravid-Kumble Sachin Tendulkar holds the record for most player of the match awards in Tests for India. He has won this award 14 times. Ashwin scored a century and took 6 wickets in the Chennai Test. He was awarded Player of the Match for this. Ashwin has received this award for the 10th time in Tests.

3. A century and 5 wickets in a single match for India in Tests Ravichandran Ashwin has taken a century and 5 wickets in a match for the fourth time for India in Tests. He is followed by Ravindra Jadeja who has achieved this feat twice.

4. Ashwin equals Warne for most 5-wicket haul Spinner Ashwin has equaled Australia's legendary player Shane Warne in terms of taking the most 5 wickets in Tests. He has taken five wickets 37 times in Test cricket.

5. Highest century for India since 2023 Shubman Gill has scored his 10th century in international cricket since 2023. He is the highest Indian century scorer in the last 2 years. After that, Virat Kohli has scored 8, Rohit Sharma 7 and Yashaswi Jaiswal 4 centuries.

6. Pant scores sixth Test century, equals Dhoni Rishabh Pant scored his sixth career century against Bangladesh. He played an innings of 109 runs. With this, he has joined MS Dhoni as the first wicketkeeper to score most centuries for India. Dhoni scored 6 centuries in 90 Tests. Pant scored 6 centuries in 34 Tests.

7. Shubham completes 100 international sixes 25-year-old Shubman Gill has completed 100 sixes in international cricket. He completed his century of sixes by hitting 2 sixes against Bangladesh. Shubman has reached the fourth position among Indians who have hit the most sixes till the age of 25. Ahead of him are Suresh Raina, Rishabh Pant and Sachin Tendulkar.

8. Keeper with most centuries in WTC Rishabh Pant has scored 4 centuries in the World Test Championship (WTC) which started in 2019. Along with this, he also became the wicketkeeper with the most centuries in the WTC. After that Liton Das of Bangladesh and Mohammad Rizwan of Pakistan have scored 3 centuries each.

9. 400 wickets by an Indian pacer Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has become the sixth Indian fast bowler to take 400+ wickets. He has taken 402 wickets in international cricket. Kapil Dev is number one with 687 wickets.

10. Largest partnership for the seventh wicket against Bangladesh Ashwin and Jadeja put on an unbeaten partnership of 195 runs for the seventh wicket. This is the highest partnership for seven wickets or less by India against Bangladesh. Earlier, Zaheer Khan and Sachin Tendulkar had put on 133 runs for the 10th wicket at the Dhaka ground in 2004.

11. Second century and five wickets for the fifth time in Chennai Ashwin topped the list of players who scored more than two centuries at the same Test venue and took 5 wickets. Ashwin holds the record of scoring 4 times 2 centuries and taking 5 wickets in Chennai. So far only 5 players have been able to take 2 centuries and 5 plus wickets at the same venue in Test cricket.

After Ashwin, England's Ian Botham has taken 5 wickets three times with two centuries at Headingley. While West Indies' Gary Sobers has achieved 2 centuries and 5 wickets twice in Headingley, India's Kapil Dev in Chennai and New Zealand's Chris Cairns twice in Auckland.
