Bollywood and TV actress Shama Sikandar has spoken about the casting couch in the film industry. He said that he faced an awkward situation in an ad shoot when a superstar hugged him in the name of improvising a scene.
In an interview given to Bollywood Bubble, Shama said that, while shooting the ad, I felt that the actor wanted to hug me on some pretext. You get a vibe from certain people. When he was shooting with me, he said some things to improve the scene. He said he would make me wear jewelery in the scene. Then you hug me. I was very upset when he tried to hug me. I had never experienced this before.
Shama further said, I have worked with many people before. Many boys are my friends but I have never felt so uncomfortable with anyone. If the man was a superstar, why did he need to do all this? Which was a very shocking incident. I will never work with him again in my life.
Shama also suffered from bipolar disorder. But now it fits.
People wanted favors indirectly Shama also talked about the casting couch. He said, there were many occasions when people sought favors indirectly. I had signed a very big film. I was doing my makeup and then I was told that my shoot has been cancelled. I had to shoot with a big superstar and I was told sir won't come, you can go. I did a lot of preparation for the film and waited for hours for the shoot.
Those people were indirectly giving me hints about many things that could not be said. But at that time I was not mature enough to understand all this. They forced me to leave the set. Later I came to know that he has signed another heroine. I was shocked to know this but my father took care of me.
Shama came to films from modeling Shama Sikander started her career with modeling. She then appeared in several music videos. She gained a lot of popularity by playing the role of a fierce fairy in the TV show 'Baalveer' (2014). He has also worked in serials like 'Yeh Meri Life Hai', 'Seven'.
He has also acted in 'Prem Agan' (1998), 'Mann' (1999), 'Ansh' (2002), 'Dhoom Dhadaka' (2008).
