BMC action on illegal mosque in Mumbai's Dharavi has created tension. A BMC team arrived in Mumbai's Dharavi to demolish illegal parts of the Mehboob-e-Subania Masjid but the crowd created ruckus. People are protesting by sitting on the road. Along with the municipal vehicle that arrived to take action, several other vehicles were also vandalized.
In view of the situation, a large number of policemen have been deployed at the spot. The situation in Dharavi is still tense. Police officials along with BMC officials are discussing the matter with Muslim community leaders.
People of the Muslim community took to the streets
In fact, the 25-year-old Subhaniya Masjid on 90 Feet Road in Dharavi, Mumbai was declared illegal by the BMC and is scheduled to be demolished today. Before the action of the BMC officials, the people of the Muslim community took to the road last night and blocked the entire road. The people of the Muslim community say that this mosque is very old.
The Congress MP met the Chief Minister on this issue

Mumbai North Central MP Prof. Varsha Gaekwad said that she had met Chief Minister Eknath Shindeji in this regard and informed him about the sentiments of the people regarding the demolition notice issued by the BMC to the Mehboob-e-Subania Masjid in Dharavi.
Varsha Gaikwad said that she had a positive interaction with the Chief Minister. He said he would speak to the authorities concerned and assured that the demolition process would be stopped.
