Rajendra Kumar Ruined Vijayata Pandit's Career: Actress Says – Kumar Was Upset With My Closeness To Gaurav, He Removed Me From Every Film

Famous actress of 70s-80s Vijayata Pandit's name was once associated with Kumar Gaurav, son of famous actor Rajendra Kumar. In a recent interview, Vijayatha said that Rajendra Kumar was so unhappy with the relationship between her and Kumar Gaurav that he used to drop her from films. He has attributed the ruin of his career to Rajendra Kumar.

Recently, in an interview to Lehren Retro, Vijaya Pandit said, 'I have never talked about this before today. Actually when the film was being made 'Love Story' it was a love story. Bunty (Kumar Gaurav) was the first boy I hugged for the first time in my life. When we do such passionate scenes, it is very natural to fall in love. It was the first time a boy had ever touched me. We both fell in love with each other.'

The shooting of the film was done in Kashmir for 2-2, 3-3 months. Bunty (Kumar Gaurav) loved me, followed me, held my hand and danced. The situation was very different with me as my elder sister (Sulakshana Pandit) stayed with me during the shoot. She was very strict, she kept asking me not to talk so much with Bunty.'

He continued, 'He was very charming. When Rajendra Kumar came to know that we were having an affair, he was very much against it. He was very angry. Even during the shooting of the film, he used to drink alcohol and scold Bunty that something will happen if you work, what will happen to your career if you fall in love now.'

The actress has further said that Rajendra Kumar used to advise his son Kumar Gaurav to stay away from Vijayata Pandit saying, you are my prince, I will get you a princess, I will marry you to a girl from a rich family. Hearing this, Vijayata was very scared. The actress has said that during the shooting in Kashmir, Rajendra Kumar and Kumar Gaurav were having a heated argument after drinking alcohol. Seeing this, Vijayata was very scared. He decided not to talk to Kumar Gaurav.

Vijayata Pandit further stated that Rajendra Kumar got his son engaged to Reema Kapoor (Rishi Kapoor's sister) during the shooting of the film, upset by the closeness between him and Kumar Gaurav. Even after the engagement, Kumar Gaurav used to visit her at Vijayata's house.

The actress said- My parents were very angry after seeing this. They were saying that Kumar Gaurav is engaged to Raj Kapoor's daughter, then why is he coming home. Daddy wanted to go to Rajendra Kumar's house and complain about Kumar Gaurav. One day my mother told Kumar Gaurav that he should not come to meet my daughter as he is engaged, to which Kumar Gaurav said that he is engaged, but I will marry Vijayata. He was saying that I will talk to my parents. I want to marry this one.

Vijayata stated that Kumar Gaurav had sworn in front of his mother that if he would marry, he would marry Vijaya only, otherwise he would not. However, after a few days they came to know that Kumar Gaurav was having an affair with Sunil Dutt's daughter Namrata Dutt.

I was removed from every film at Rajendra Kumar's behest – Vijayata Vijayataaye He said that after the first film became a superhit, he got many films. She acted in several films with Kumar Gaurav. She also started shooting for Raahi, but was dropped from every film at Rajendra Kumar's insistence. The actress said, He is the person who did not allow me to work with Kumar Gaurav.
