Sensex tumbles over 100 points: Nifty also falls 40 points as FMCG and IT stocks sell off

Today, the last trading day of the week on September 13, the Sensex is trading at 82,830, down over 100 points. The Nifty is also down 40 points, trading at 25,350. Out of 30 stocks in Sensex, 10 are rising and 20 are falling. Out of 50 stocks in Nifty, 17 are rising and 33 are falling. NSE's sectoral index saw selling in FMCG and IT shares. Mixed business in Asian market Western Carriers IPO opens The initial public offering (IPO) of light logistics company Western Carriers Limited has opened today. Investors can bid for the shares till September 18. The company's shares will be listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on September 23. Yesterday, the market made an all-time high. Before this, yesterday ie on September 12, Sensex made a new all-time high of 83,116 and Nifty made a level of 25,433. However, later both the indices edged lower with the Sensex gaining 1,439 points (1.77%) to close at 82,962 and the Nifty gaining 470 (1.89%) points to close at 25,388.
