Bobby Deol on alcoholism in bad times: Says, 'I felt sorry for myself, I could see in the eyes of my family members that they were worried'

Bobby Deol had a huge success last year with the film 'Animal'. Before this he had seen a long struggle in life. Meanwhile, Bobby got addicted to alcohol. In an interview given to 'Humans of Bombay', Bobby talked about the most difficult phase of his life and said that you cannot sit and regret what you have done wrong, but how do you learn from mistakes? I started feeling sorry for myself. There is nothing worse for a person than feeling sorry for themselves. Bobby further said that everyone feels weak and it is very difficult to overcome this feeling. It feels like you're drowning. At that time my family members were very worried for me. They always encouraged me but when I was torturing myself like this I could see in their eyes how much pain they were feeling. 2014-2016 was the time when Bobby, frustrated with not finding work, started working as a DJ in high profile nightclubs and pubs. Started acting at the age of 8, became a hero in 1995 Bobby's acting career started at the age of just 8. He was a child actor in the 1977 film Dharam Veer. In 1995, he made his debut as a hero with the film 'Barsaat' opposite Twinkle Khanna. After giving 3 hits, the films started to fail. After the film 'Barsaat', Bobby's 3 films 'Gupta' (1997), 'Soldier' (1998) and 'Badal' (2000) were hits. Despite this, Bobby did not get special films. He did a few films like 'Kismat', 'Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyon', 'Zoom Meekal Zoom', 'Poster Boys' but all of them were flops. He started getting small roles. In 2011, he acted in the film 'Yamla Pagla Deewana', but this multistarrer film did not benefit Bobby's career much. Bobby has done around 45 films in his 28-year-long career, but 'Animal' is the only film in such a long career that turned out to be his first blockbuster. Before this only 6 films of his were hits. These are 'Barsaat', 'Gupta', 'Soldier', 'Badal', 'Yamla Pagla Deewana' and 'Housefull 4'.
