Kolkata case, Governor says – Mamata should call Cabinet meeting: Remove Police Commissioner; An ostrich-like attitude will not work, responsibility will have to be taken

West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose has instructed the Mamata government to convene an emergency cabinet meeting on the corruption and rape-murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata. Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal should be sacked, Bose said. The state government cannot escape from its responsibility. An ostrich attitude is not enough. The state should function under the constitution and rule of law. In fact, on August 9, a trainee doctor was raped at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata. After which his half-naked body was found. The Kolkata Police was accused of negligence in the case. The Supreme Court said that such negligence has not been seen in 30 years. On August 22, the rape-murder case was heard in the Supreme Court. Meanwhile, the CBI told the court that the crime scene has been tampered with. Justice JB Pardiwala said – The role of Kolkata Police is in doubt. I have never seen such negligence in an investigation in my 30 year career.
