JDU party spokesperson KC Tyagi quits: UCC, Agneepath, caste census; Nitish's minister became BJP's headache on many issues

Senior Janata Dal United (JDU) leader KC Tyagi recently resigned as the party's national spokesperson due to personal reasons. After Tyagi's resignation, Rajeev Ranjan has been appointed as the new national spokesperson of JDU. Party General Secretary Afaq Ahmed Khan has informed about this change by issuing a letter. However, there are many other reasons behind KC Tyagi's resignation, including differences within and outside the party due to his statements. KC Tyagi made statements on several issues that forced the Modi government to think. Regarding the Agneepath scheme, KC Tyagi said that the Agneepath scheme needs to be reconsidered. Apart from this, he also presented his stand on Uniform Civil Code and One Nation One Election. KC Tyagi said about Agnipath Yojana… JDU leader KC Tyagi said that there is a lot of opposition regarding Agniveer Yojana. Its effect was also seen in the Lok Sabha elections. This needs to be reconsidered. He further said that the security personnel are deployed in the army. When the Agniveer Yojana was launched, there was great resentment among a large section of the society. I believe his family also opposed the election. A new way of thinking is needed. Congress made Agniveer Yojana a big issue in the general elections. Congress had clearly said that after coming to power, it will throw the Agniveer Yojana in the dustbin. Said about UCC… JDU leader KC Tyagi gave his reaction on Uniform Civil Code. He said that our stand is as clear as before. All stakeholders need to be involved. Bihar CM Nitish Kumar wrote a letter to the Chairman of the Law Commission on the Uniform Civil Code saying that we are not against it. This requires a lot of discussion. Caste-based census said… On caste-based census, KC Tyagi said that no party in the country has said no to caste-based census. Bihar has shown the way. Even in the all-party delegation, the Prime Minister did not oppose it. Caste based census is the need of the hour. We will take it further. He also said that there are no pre-conditions. There is unconditional support. But giving special status to Bihar is in our heart. Statement on SC/ST reservation and lateral entry In addition, Tyagi issued a statement on the Supreme Court's decision on SC/ST reservation without discussing it with the party, which angered the party leadership. Similarly, on the issue of lateral entry, he presented his personal opinion as the official opinion of the party. Dissatisfaction in party over statements KC Tyagi, who has long been a prominent face of the JDU, has made several statements in the recent past that differed from the party's official line. On several occasions he made statements without consulting the party leadership or other senior leaders. Due to this, dissatisfaction arose in the party and the situation gradually became serious. News of rifts in NDA also led to reports of rifts not only in the JDU but also in the NDA due to Tyagi's statements. Especially on the issue of foreign policy, he was seen joining the ranks of the leaders of the INDIA coalition and signed a joint statement to freeze arms supplies to Israel. The move came as a surprise to the JDU leadership and fueled controversy within and outside the party. Questions on leadership Tyagi often presented his personal views as those of the party, leading to questions on the party's image and leadership. The situation became unsettling for the party and eventually the JDU leadership decided to accept Tyagi's resignation. Rajeev Ranjan gets responsibility Rajeev Ranjan has been appointed as the new National Spokesperson of JDU after the resignation of Tyagi. Party General Secretary Afaq Ahmed Khan has informed about this change by issuing a letter. Political experts believe that KC Tyagi's departure is an attempt to reduce internal differences in the JDU, so that the party can move forward unitedly. After Tyagi's resignation, all eyes will be on the party's future strategy.
