Ukraine Wants to Invade Russia: Seeks US Help, Zelensky Says – War Will Stop Only When We Attack Russia's Military Bases

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky now wants to invade Russia. According to news agency Reuters, he is also pressuring America to help in this. Zelensky released a video on Saturday saying that on August 30, Russia launched an airstrike on Kharkiv, killing 6 Ukrainians. And 97 people were injured. Zelensky said the attacks could only be stopped if Ukraine targeted Russian airfields and military bases. We are discussing this with our partner countries every day. Trying to convince them for this. “Long-range missiles are needed to protect Ukraine,” Zelensky said. Long-range attack missiles and their use against Russia require approval.” Zelensky said that his representatives have shared all the necessary information regarding this with the Ukrainian allies. Earlier on August 30-31, Defense Minister of Ukraine Rustem Umarov met American officials and experts in Washington. Speaking to CNN after Zelensky showed Biden a plan to win Ukraine, he said he had been briefed on what weapons would be needed to defend Ukraine. We hope our appeal will be heard. Zelensky will meet US President Joe Biden in the last week of September. In the meantime, he will present his plan for the victory of Ukraine. This happened for the first time in the two-and-a-half year long Russia-Ukraine war on August 6, 2024, when Ukraine invaded Russia and occupied its Kursk region. Since then Ukraine has been continuously attacking Russia. According to an RT report, 31 Russian citizens have lost their lives in Ukrainian attacks in 20 days. Ukraine has occupied 1,263 square km of Russia, marking the first time since World War II that a foreign power has occupied Russian territory. Ukraine captured 1263 square kilometers of Russia in two weeks. Ukraine claims that Ukraine has captured more land in 2 weeks than Russia has captured in 8 months of 2024. However, according to political expert Tatiana Stenovaya, Russia is repeating its strategy adopted in World War II. His tactic has been to first let the enemy in and then attack encirclement. Because of this, Ukraine's Kursk campaign could prove counterproductive for Zelensky.
