Sachin-Bhagyashree unfurl tricolor at Paris Paralympics opening ceremony: Over 100 Indian team members to participate, hope to bag record medals this time

17 days after the Olympic Games, the Paralympic Games have officially started in Paris. The opening ceremony of the Para Games took place on Thursday night. French President Emmanuel Macron inaugurated it in a ceremony held outside the stadium. For the first time in the history of the Games, the opening ceremony was held outside the stadium. The opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games was also held outside the stadium. Thousands of athletes participated in the Parade of Nations in this ceremony. The parade started from the Champs-Élysées avenue and proceeded to the Place de la Concorde. Here about 50 thousand people watched the ceremony from the stands built around this historic square. After three years, India aims to take the gold medal tally into double digits and win more than 25 medals in total. India is participating in 12 games this time, while the 54-member squad in Tokyo participated in 9 games.
