Failed in temple politics Rahul weaponises caste: Smriti A senior BJP leader said that Rahul Gandhi went to the temple to woo the majority Hindus, but got no success, so now he has started raising the issue of caste. According to Smriti, Rahul first wanted to cheat religiously, when he failed, now he is into cheating socially. If this also fails, they will choose a third issue. This is because they have no allegiance to anyone but authority. Smriti said this in a YouTube podcast. Smriti said that when Rahul Gandhi was going from temple to temple, what traction was he getting? Couldn't get it. He was becoming a subject of ridicule. People felt they were being cheated. Rahul has all his strategists, he felt that we cannot please the organized society by bowing down to God, so on what basis can we get their attention? Smriti further says, if he had a political commitment to social justice, it would have been clearly reflected in his political journey, so what Rahul is now talking about caste enumeration is his political move, nothing else. Rahul defended Smriti Irani in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Irani had to face defeat from Congress party candidate Kishori Lal in Amethi seat. After that there was a lot of trolling on Iranian social media. After that, Rahul Gandhi came forward in defense of Smriti Irani. Rahul Gandhi said that Smriti Irani had to hear abusive comments from her supporters and many other opponents of Irani on social media. Rahul Gandhi wrote about this in a post on X, “In life there are wins and losses. I request everyone to refrain from using abusive language and refrain from misbehaving towards Smriti Irani or any other leader.”
