Zaheer Khan to Mentor LSG: Announced Today; Has been Cricket Director of MI

Former Indian cricketer Zaheer Khan is set to become the mentor of IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). He may also be entrusted with the responsibility of bowling coach. The franchise is going to announce the appointment of Zaheer as a mentor on Wednesday. Preparations have been made at the franchise head office. The position of LSG mentor is vacant after Gautam Gambhir joined Kolkata Knight Riders before last season and now bowling coach Morne Morkel has also joined Team India. In such a situation, Zaheer can play both roles. Zaheer has been the Director of Cricket of Mumbai Indians (MI) from 2018 to 2022. He has also headed the Global Cricket Development Programme. As a player, Zaheer has an experience of 100 IPL matches. He has represented Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), Royal Challengers Bangalore (now Royal Challengers Bangalore) and Mumbai Indians. He played his last IPL match in 2017. Why a 2 in 1 role for Zaheer? Zaheer Langer to work with Klusner Currently, Lucknow has head coach Justin Langer and assistant coaches Lance Klusner and Adam Voges. Now Zaheer Khan will also join this franchise. Zaheer has international and IPL playing experience Zaheer Khan has played 92 Tests, 200 ODIs and 17 T20 matches for India. He has 311 Tests, 282 ODIs and 17 T-20 wickets to his name.
