PM Modi speaks to Putin on phone: briefed on Ukraine visit; Discussed the solution to the war

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spoken to Russian President Vladimir Putin after 4 days of his visit to Ukraine. Modi gave this information on social media X on Tuesday. He wrote, spoke to Putin about strengthening the special and strategic partnership between India and Russia. Shared views with him on the Russia-Ukraine war. PM Modi said he also briefed Putin about his recent visit to Ukraine. He reiterated India's commitment to a peaceful resolution of the war. Just a few hours ago, PM Modi spoke to US President Joe Biden. The two leaders discussed various global issues including Ukraine. Prime Minister Modi also reiterated India's support for peace and stability in Ukraine. PM Modi recently returned from his visit to Ukraine PM Modi visited Ukraine last week on August 23. During this time, in an interview with President Volodymyr Zelensky, Modi said, 'India has always been on the side of peace. I met Russian President Putin a few days ago. Then I turned a blind eye to the media and said this is not the time for war. Modi and Zelensky met for about 3 hours at Mariinsky Palace in Ukraine. He invited Zelensky to come to India. Modi also accompanied Zelensky to the National Museum of Ukraine, where he paid tribute to children killed in the war. He also placed a doll at the children's memorial.
