Zuckerberg's explanation- The US government was pressuring Facebook: They also wanted to remove memes related to Corona, said- It's a pity that I couldn't say it earlier

Meta chief Mark Zuckerberg has alleged that the Joe Biden-Kamala Harris administration repeatedly pressured his company to censor (remove) Covid-related posts. He made these allegations in a letter written to the Judiciary Committee. He said that it is wrong to put such pressure on the government. He regrets that he could not speak more on the matter earlier. Zuckerberg wrote in the letter that the Biden administration pressured him for several months in 2021. They also wanted to remove covid-19 related memes. When we did not agree on this, he also expressed his disappointment about it. The meta chief said, “Ultimately it was our decision whether to remove the content or not.” We are responsible for our decisions. Zuckerberg said – will not bow to government pressure Zuckerberg said – I think we should not bow to any government pressure under any circumstances. We must not compromise our content standards. Even if something like this happens again, our response will be the same as before. In the same letter, Zuckerberg alleged that the FBI warned him before the 2020 election. The Meta Chief said that the New York Post has written a report on the matter related to the corruption of the Biden family. Calling it Russian propaganda, the FBI asked to put a fact check notice on it. Zuckerberg said that Meta has demoted this story on Facebook. Due to which this story could not reach many people. Zuckerberg claimed in the letter that the reporting was not Russian disinformation and should not be suppressed. Previously, Zuckerberg admitted in a podcast in 2022 that Meta suppressed Biden-related content on Facebook. That said, Facebook algorithmically censored news from Biden's son Hunter Biden's laptop a week before the 2020 US presidential election. Zuckerberg said he asked the FBI for this. Republican Party Takes a Dig The Republican Party has lashed out at the Biden administration following Zuckerberg's allegations. The party wrote on social media – Mark Zuckerberg has admitted three things: 1- The Biden-Kamala Harris administration put 'pressure' on Facebook to censor Americans. 2- Facebook censored Americans. 3- Facebook suppressed Hunter Biden laptop story. He further sarcastically wrote that this is a great victory for freedom of speech.
