Khadge said- U in UPS stands for Modi government's U-turn: Lateral entry-Broadcast bill then pension scheme; Public dominance over PM's ego

After the central government's decision to bring the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) after the new pension scheme, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said – U in UPS means the U-turn of the Modi government. Khadge said the government had withdrawn the decision on long-term capital gain/indexation in the first budget. After this, the Broadcasting Bill and the decision on lateral entry to higher UPSC posts were also withdrawn. We will continue to ensure government accountability. This government will continue to protect 140 crore Indians. In fact, on Saturday (August 24), the central government replaced the New Pension Scheme (NPS) with the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS). The scheme will come into effect from 1 April 2025. It will benefit 23 lakh central employees. Shiv Sena said – the decision was taken under the pressure of the opposition Shiv Sena Uddhav group leader Anand Dubey said – the government has approved the UPS due to the pressure of the opposition. This time BJP has got only 240 seats. So they have come up with a scheme for central government employees. AAP said – BJP has come to its senses AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj said – BJP has come to its senses now. Now BJP will soon withdraw its other decisions like Agnveer Yojana. What the opposition was saying was true which has been proven. The central government itself was oppressing all the central government employees. Central government employees voted against BJP. BJP has come to its senses after this. Congress leader Rashid Alvi said- Central government spread illusion through UPS Congress leader Rashid Alvi said- What the government should have done earlier, it is now doing under pressure. The entire opposition is saying that the government should take a decision on pension. Retired employees should not get 50 percent of their salary (before retirement), but full 100 percent. You are doing this advertisement for such employees who retire after working for the country. Central government is also creating illusion through UPS. How is UPS different from New Pension Scheme? Asked how the scheme differs from the New Pension Scheme and the Old Pension Scheme, former Cabinet Secretary TV Somnath replied, UPS is a fully contributory funded scheme. (ie, in this too employees have to contribute 10% like NPS.) Whereas the old pension scheme was an unfunded contributory scheme. (In this the employees did not have to make any contribution.) But instead of leaving it at the mercy of the market like NPS, we have assured a fixed pension. UPS combines the advantages of both OPS and NPS.
